About INDS 490

The Capstone is one of the core components of Interdisciplinary Studies. It is akin to a senior thesis, however it takes into account the interdisciplinary and integrative approach that may be taken by the variety of different concentrations that our students choose to focus on.

Typically, students complete INDS 490 in their final semester after the majority of coursework is completed. It demonstrates the skills, knowledge, and experiences acquired through the INDS degree plan. Permission is granted after successful completion of INDS 480 along with the approval of faculty mentors and the INDS advisor.

As part of the INDS 490 “professionalism” assessment, and to support our students in their capstone semester, students will meet twice per month through the semester in small groups of no more than 4 to give project updates and to discuss challenges with peers, INDS staff, and guest instructors.
